Old Material New Ideas

First off I would like to thank you all for you thoughtful comments the most recent being Maggie's. Thank you guys. Now onto the title. I was sitting there one day just thinking about what I wanted to do and going over the many novels that I was currently writing and I remembered one I had started to write a long time ago. The story had no name and I had only written a few pages but had an idea of where I wanted the story to go. I went to go look for the notebook that it was in and I couldn't find it anywhere. It was and is officially lost. Luckily for me it was a very memorable story. I have managed to write a decent copy of what I remember of the stories beginning. I am missing one crucial part but I am hoping that it will come to me eventually. I haven't gotten further than I did the first time because my brother decided my notebook needed a day at the spa and smeared it with lotion. I just spent the last two days copying words from sopy and crinkly pages to a fresh clean notebook. Needless to say I am frustrated. I have decided to start up a Youth Writer's club at my local library and semi online. Once I get the club going I will be starting a collective blog that all members can access. I think a collective blog is a great idea but it might just turn out as a garbled mess, who knows. It will be a fun experience anyway.

Sadness

I believe that I have reached a point in which I will not be able to finish. I regret my past decisions to not sit down and write more often. I still plan on writing and finishing the novel but it looks as if it will be finished at a later date. I will continue to keep you posted. I have started writing my other novels as well again. It is not that I am abandoning Something Fantastical, it is that I have more motivation to work on my mystery at the moment. I have recently watched the Sherlock BBC Series and it has brought about a renewed drive to create a devilishly difficult mystery. I hope that my novel is complicated enough to keep my audiences attention. Till later I suppose...

Slow

My writing is going very slowly. I believe that I will not make it. I have been trying to write but I have hit a brick wall. I know where I want to go with the story and have a detailed outline but I sit down to write and end up sitting and staring at the page for an hour. The last couple of days I don't think I have made any progress save one sentence. This does not fare well for my goal of reaching 60,000 words by the end of 30 days. For those of you keeping track this is day 15 and I highly doubt that I have 30,000 words. I will still try to write this book exclusively but there is no garuntee of completion any time soon. Now all I need is a literary sledge hammer for the stupid brick wall. Until I find it I will have a very bruised forehead. Till next time...
